What is the golden ratio?

This is a term which may also be known as the Golden Section or Golden Mean is equal to 1.618….. This number exists within the line AB that is divided in extreme and mean ratio by C so that AB:AC=AC:CB.

Here’s an activity that may help you visualize the relationship.

That all may sound confusing but here is a video that may help.

This ratio is also referenced in many T.V. shows and movies. Here are a few to watch.

Here are some examples of how the golden ratio applies within architecture and nature.

How does this ratio relate to the Fibonacci sequence? What other implications can they have in life and why? Why do you think it shows itself so frequently in nature and art?
